Our Aims

The aim of Sure Start Children's Centres is to improve the outcomes for all children but with particular focus on reducing the inequalities between the most disadvantaged and others.

At present we are one of 3 centres in Uttlesford. The idea is based on making life easier for parents and their children by providing a range of key services in one location or coordinated services in a local area. Information on childcare, health, education, family support and training and information about employment and related issues will be available at the Centre. This range of services is called the "Core Offer" and aims to give the best possible start in life for children and better opportunities for parents and carers.

Spangles aims to provide a varied and interesting timetable of events. Where ever possible it will be free and open to all, we will also try and target those who need it most. We follow the 5 aims of the "Every Child Matters" ethos and look to include this government initiative in all that we do.
